Chicago, IL – September 15, 2025 – Superior Graphite, a century-old leader in carbon and graphite materials, is pleased to announce a strategic agreement with ExxonMobil, which includes the acquisition of select assets, technologies, and international offices.
For over 100 years, Superior Graphite has built its reputation on quality, reliability, and deep technical expertise. That legacy remains unchanged. Through this agreement, ExxonMobil’s global scale and resources will support our customers and suppliers and offer enhanced capabilities and long-term stability.

The agreement includes Superior Graphite’s manufacturing site in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, its research and operations center in Bedford Park, Illinois, and select international offices, in total, approximately 150 employees will join ExxonMobil.
Superior Graphite’s proven processes and intellectual property will complement ExxonMobil’s operational expertise and feedstock capabilities, creating a powerful platform for scalable, high-performance graphite production.
